Hearing loss is an insidious disability.

It comes upon us in many different ways - the music too loud, our aging, the use of certain antibiotics, disease, congenitally, by accident, etc. No matter what level of hearing loss we have,it is truly a significant disability. In a child, it affects how quickly and how they learn. In adults, it impacts our work lives and as individuals, at whatever age, it affects our ability to connect with the rest of the world and with the people around us.

Blindness separates us from things but deafness separates us from people.

When we have a hearing loss, no matter how severe, it causes us to withdraw from the activities of life We isolate. Yet few people address their hearing loss until they have been severely crippled by it.

Hearing is a Vital Life Function.
